WESG Portal – Supporting Business Resilience in Westminster

In 2025, we launched the WESG Portal, hosted by imabi, to provide members with a faster, smarter, and more unified approach to emergency preparedness and day-to-day resilience. Designed to enable real-time messaging and proactive planning, the Portal leverages imabi’s innovative and secure technology platform to meet the complex needs of businesses operating in central London.

Recognising the need to reduce email overload and centralise critical information, we sought to create a dedicated digital hub where members could access emergency preparedness guidance and receive timely updates on emerging risks. A key requirement was the ability to notify members about protests, major events, and incidents impacting central London, accompanied by practical, supportive advice.

Working closely with imabi, we developed a tailored digital platform embedded within the imabi Pro app. Accessible via individual logins, the WESG Portal consolidates our bespoke guidance, real-time updates, emergency life support mapping, and planning tools—all in one place.

Advice and Guidance

WESG provides members with practical advice and guidance through a suite of Toolkits—bite-sized resources designed specifically for small, medium, and micro businesses. These cover a range of scenarios, including terrorism, civil unrest, and extreme weather.

The WESG Portal makes these Toolkits instantly accessible and easily shareable via mobile, helping businesses strengthen their preparedness and resilience. We are also developing a growing library of downloadable resources, including checklists and best-practice guidance for handling protest disruption, cyber threats, and other emergency scenarios.

Emergency Planning Tools

To support business continuity and regulatory compliance, including preparedness for Martyn’s Law, WESG provides members with a suite of interactive planning templates. These include:

  • Evacuation plans

  • Lockdown and invacuation procedures

  • Communication strategies

Developed by our in-house Security Consultant team, these templates can be completed, saved, and printed directly through the WESG Portal, helping businesses of all sizes prepare effectively for a wide range of emergencies.

Emergency Life Support Mapping

Thanks to the capabilities of the imabi platform, the WESG Portal features a live emergency mapping tool. This interactive feature displays the locations of:

  • Trauma kits

  • Bleed control packs

  • Defibrillators

  • Acid attack response kits

  • Grab bags

  • Safe spaces

Available throughout the West End and Westminster, this resource supports our mission to accelerate emergency response and help save lives by guiding users to critical first-aid equipment in real time.

Now live and in daily use across the West End and Westminster, the WESG Portal is transforming the way we support over 6,000 businesses. It enables WESG to communicate faster, deliver smarter guidance and build stronger resilience across our member network.

By bringing critical information, planning tools, and real-time updates into one accessible platform, the WESG Portal is a vital resource for the safety and resilience of Westminster’s business community.

Real-time Messaging

The Portal’s real-time push notification system allows us to communicate instantly with members. During protests and major incidents, we can share:

  • Timely alerts

  • Travel disruption updates

  • Safety advice

  • Business continuity guidance

This has significantly enhanced our ability to keep members informed and supported during fast-moving events in central London.
